This is the only completed turning, so far, out of the 4 or 5 I will get out of a huge burl given to me by a friend who runs a local excavation company. It had been sitting in his yard for a few years – his wife said that she was really tired of having to cut the grass around it – thinking he might find someone who could put it to good use. I hope my pieces don’t disappoint him. While there are parts where the wood is very solid there are other parts that had become very punky and were extremely difficult to cut and finish. I think the end result came out pretty good. It is 8″ in diameter at its widest point and 11″ high.
